</div> Paint layer is a new type of effect that allows you to use two types of brushes and draw in real time by hand the patterns that you like on your LED pixels. You can afterwards save the images and play them in a sequence. Additionally, it allows you to export a bit-map of the mapping and use 3rd party software to lay down an image of your choice precisely. Since you have the bit-map at your disposal, you can also create a video with precision pixel-to-pixel.
Where to find Paint Layer? #
You can find it in Video Scenes, when you click on Add Layer. Among the options simply find Paint. Since you can stack multiple layers in a single Video scene, this makes the Paint layer perfect for masking out pixels from other effects that you don’t want to light up, e.g. Color effects.
How can I draw something? #
Paint is working with layers of images. You can Add new image and open Image Editor. Don’t forget to find and implement a suitable naming structure for the pictures and folders, since it can get messy pretty quickly :) In an Image editor, you can choose two types of brushes ( Rectangular, Circular ), change their size and choose Color. Observe the keyboard shortcuts to make your work faster and more intuitive!
Each dot in the Editor represents single pixel from the Mapping in a bit-map.
How can I play the sequence of multiple images? #
You can change the Duration of each image and overlay Fadeout by %. You then only hit Play and enjoy your work :)
