The Powered SPI LED 2 controller provides standalone capabilities for playing colors, chases, or videos. Users can set a default file to play when the device powers on and navigate SD card content manually or create playlists.
Default file
Users can designate a specific animation programmed in LED Strip Studio Software as a Default file. This effect plays automatically after powering on the device. This feature enables simple setups—for example, connecting the device to a timer outlet to play a desired animation at scheduled times.
Autoplay
The device supports multiple operational modes with different priorities. Autoplay has the lowest priority and activates “when there is no data coming in from LSS software, no ArtNet data, DMX or external trigger.”
In this mode, users can select animations via the app or device UI to play in a loop. The Repeat setting allows playing an animation once instead of continuously—useful for lengthy animations (up to 24 hours) intended for single playback.
Playlist
Users can create playlists from animations programmed in LSS software and uploaded to an SD card. This enables sequential playback of multiple animations rather than being restricted to a single animation.
Synchronization
Like other device modes (DMX, Ethernet Synchronization), “multiple devices daisy-chained together” can have default files set on all devices for simultaneous playback, with one device serving as the synchronization device.
