One protocol for the whole installation
Any DMX controller does the job: the console you already own, a small architectural DMX player, or an LEC3 or SPI LED Controller running LED Strip Studio software.
Your Christmas strings then sit on the same DMX line as floodlights, pixel fixtures and effects. One operator, one timeline and one set of cues cover the entire scene.

Low-voltage LED Christmas light strings (12–36 V DC) whose LEDs are wired in two anti-parallel sections—the kind that switch between odd and even sections by changing polarity. Yes. The board runs from an external 12–36 V DC supply connected to a 2-pole screw terminal and uses 3 W itself. The outputs carry the same voltage, so choose a supply that matches your light strings and can feed all of them.

No. Xmas Dimmer is a bare board without an enclosure (IP00), designed for indoor use only. Mount it in a suitable enclosure indoors; the light strings can go wherever they are rated for. Full answer in Outdoor and Harsh-Environment Hardware.
