Xmas Dimmer takes DMX512 on a 3-pin header with an opto-isolated, ESD-protected input. The included break-out cable connects it to standard XLR DMX cables, so the board drops into any DMX line.
Connection
From XLR to the 3-pin header
Plug the included DMX break-out cable into the board's 3-pin DMX header. Its XLR connectors use the standard DMX512 wiring: pin 1 GND, pin 2 DMX−, pin 3 DMX+.
Connect the console to one XLR connector and continue the DMX line to the next fixture from the other.

Daisy Chain
One DMX line, many dimmers
The DMX input is optically isolated and ESD-protected, so the DMX line stays electrically separate from the board's power stage.
The DMX512 specification allows 32 devices on one line. For more, use a DMX splitter, and put a DMX terminator at the end of long cable runs.

DMX input questions
Plug the included break-out cable into the 3-pin DMX header and connect your DMX cable to its XLR connector. Pin 1 is GND, pin 2 DMX−, pin 3 DMX+.
