When your project exceeds 4096 pixels or has a layout unsuitable for a single controller, you’ll need multiple devices. This requires advance planning of your strip layout, controller placement, cabling infrastructure, and network capabilities. The critical step is exporting effects correctly to each controller.

Typical use case scenario for multiple controllers
In complex installations, you need to control each segment independently rather than treating everything uniformly. Your setup may consist of different pixel arrangements and shapes where each output on each device has a distinct pixel count. You’ll map everything precisely for optimal results and typically use DMX or Art-Net consoles, HTTP commands, or autoplay functionality instead of PC-based triggering.
What device can I use?
You can combine LED Ethernet Controller 3, SPI Matrix, and REACTIVO controllers. The SPI LED Controller functions as a slave device only. For Ethernet synchronization, the SPI LED Controller cannot be used.
Difference between SPI Matrix & LEC3
The export process differs between Art-Net converters (SPI Matrix, REACTIVO) and controllers using custom SPI protocol (LEC3, SPI LED Controller). Detailed information explains that exporting requires using a “Dummy Device” to enable proper effect export.
How to export effects for multiple controllers?
Following the typical use case scenario, maintain a clear naming structure throughout your mapping process. All effects export with identical names, so you cannot distinguish device identity from filenames alone. Create organized folders to prevent confusion during export.

Export effects individually or as a complete bank. The software prompts you to select an Ethernet IP or controller, then configure your animation’s starting index.
Critical consideration: “if you use the real IP address of the SPI Matrix that you have in the project, it will not work.” Use the Art-Net section in mapping for live control and preview. For export, always use the “Dummy device”.
How to upload exported effects?
Upload options include manual copy/paste onto SD Card or network upload via the Webconfig tool. Always upload only files, never folders.
