Xmas Dimmer puts traditional Christmas light strings on DMX512. Every LED section fades in 256 steps, so fades, chases and cues come from your console, a DMX player or LED Strip Studio instead of a blink-mode button.
How It Works
From a DMX value to light
Xmas Dimmer listens to 16 channels on the DMX line. Each channel is an 8-bit value from 0 to 255 that sets the PWM duty of one polarity on one output, so every LED section fades in 256 steps.
The DMX input is optically isolated and ESD-protected, and the outputs switch at about 1000 Hz.

Any Controller
Your console, your software, your cues
Xmas Dimmer works with any DMX512 controller: a lighting console, a small architectural DMX player, or LED Strip Studio software generating DMX through an LEC3 or SPI LED Controller.
Once the strings are DMX fixtures, they follow the same timeline as the rest of the rig: fade the façade up on the first bar of a song, run a chase along the roofline, or hold everything low while guests arrive.
