One Controller for Art-Net, DMX and Stand-Alone Shows
Large pixel installations rarely stay simple. The SPI Matrix keeps one under control from a single board. It takes Art-Net, sACN or DMX512, and it also runs a whole show on its own. So one controller covers design, install and daily operation.
What Does the SPI Matrix Control?
The SPI Matrix drives up to 4096 addressable RGB pixels, or 3072 RGBW pixels. Four independent SPI outputs share that load. Each output carries up to 1024 RGB pixels, which equals six Art-Net universes. Together they add up to 24 full universes.
Art-Net and sACN From Any Software
Any Art-Net or sACN source can feed the controller. Therefore you stay free to use LED Strip Studio software, a media server or a third-party console. Two RJ-45 ports with an internal 100 Mbit switch let you daisy-chain units on one network run.
DMX512 Control Over 3-Pin XLR
A lighting desk connects straight to the 3-pin XLR input, and 5-pin comes as an option. The XLR output then passes DMX on to the next fixture. You can also drive one extra universe from that DMX port.
Stand-Alone Playback From a Micro SD Card
Copy your content onto a micro SD card and the board plays it back alone. No PC and no software stay in the rack. Buttons, DMX, Art-Net, a DIP switch or an HTTP request all trigger the stored scenes.
How Do You Set Up the SPI Matrix?
Configuration runs in a web browser. Open the built-in web interface and a quick status bar reports what the unit does right now. As a result, you check network, mode and outputs without opening the enclosure.
Power, Wiring and Supported LED Chips
Feed the board 5 to 24 V to match your pixel strip. The PCB itself draws only 0.3 A, while up to 10 A passes through to the LEDs. Power and SPI outputs use pluggable 4-pin terminal blocks with 5 mm spacing.
The controller also works with most industry-standard driver ICs, so the usual WS, TM and APA families fit. Do you run a smaller job? Then the single-output SPI LED Controller covers it.
