The Art-Net license unlocks Art-Net output in LED Strip Studio 4 for five full years. Buy exactly the number of universes your installation needs and drive any Art-Net pixel controller with them. Show the client a finished visualization before the first strip goes on the wall.
What does the 5-year Art-Net license include?

How many Art-Net universes do you need?
One universe carries 170 RGB pixels. Licenses are sold in steps of 1, 2, 6, 12, 24, 32, 64, 128 and 512 universes, and a custom license covers anything larger. Divide your pixel count by 170 and round up: a 3,000-pixel façade needs 18 universes, so the 24-universe license leaves headroom for a later extension. RGBW pixels use a fourth channel, so ask our support team to size those projects.
Adding Art-Net universes later
Installations grow, and the license grows with them. More universes can be added to your existing activation key at any point in the five-year term. The first phase of a project does not have to pay for the last one. Nothing is reinstalled and no new key is issued — the key you already have simply covers more output.
Pixel mapping and visualization in LSS4
One editor covers the whole job. You map the object, build the show and preview it against a photo of the site before anything is installed. This license is what sends the finished show to the network, so design and output stay in a single workflow instead of two separate tools.
Mapping complex objects in minutes
Mapping an object is a matter of minutes. Advanced mapping tools build circles, grids and more complicated LED shapes, and vector-style tools draw curved segments with an exact pixel count per segment. Load a photo supplied by the client as the background and the map sits on the real façade, stage or ceiling.
Effects, video layers and music sync
Scenes are built from generated effects, video layers and live screen capture from Resolume Arena or MadMapper. Stack them with alpha transparency and arrange everything on a timeline with unlimited show tracks, millisecond-accurate events and synchronisation to the internal clock, to music or to MIDI MTC.
How large can the installation be?
The software is designed for large projects, but also for smaller and DIY LED installations. Our clients have successfully used it to control installations with 100,000 and more individual RGB or RGBW pixels. LSS4 runs 200,000+ RGB pixels smoothly and speaks more than 80 addressable chip types from the APA, WS and TM families. The full list is in our overview of supported LED IC types.
Which controllers work with the Art-Net license?
LSS4 is compatible with LSS controllers and with all third-party Art-Net LED pixel controllers. If you are still choosing hardware, our wiki explains which controller you can use with LED Strip Studio.
You do not need a license for everything. Content for SPI LED and SPI Matrix devices can be created for free. The LED Ethernet Controller 3 and LEC3 Powered already ship with a lifetime license of their own. This product is the one to buy when third-party Art-Net hardware sits on the network.
Who is the five-year term best for?
Five years suits permanent architectural installations, museums, clubs and venues where the same content runs season after season. It also suits integrators who would rather not track a renewal every twelve months across a dozen sites. For a single event or a one-off pilot, the 1-year term is usually the better fit.
The practical difference is administration. Over five years there is one purchase and one activation instead of a renewal date to chase every spring. That matters most when the show PC sits in a plant room and nobody logs into it between services.
