Description
The Meanwell RSP-320-12 delivers 320 W at 12 V, or 26.7 A of continuous current, from a sealed metal case measuring just 215 × 115 × 30 mm. It is the supply we reach for when a run of pixel LED strip asks for more current than a fanless unit can give and the rack space has not grown to match.

Where the RSP-320-12 earns its 320 watts
A 12 V pixel installation is limited by current, not by enthusiasm. Sixty per cent more amps than a 200 W supply means fewer units, fewer AC feeds and fewer terminal blocks to check on site. That is the whole argument for this model.
Fan speed control, not a fan running flat out
Getting 320 W out of a 30 mm case needs air, so this one has a built-in DC fan. The fan is speed-controlled, so it stays slow while the load is light and only spins up when the supply is genuinely working. It is quiet, but it is not silent — where absolute silence matters more than power, use the fanless RSP-200-12 instead.
26.7 A from the RSP-320-12 in a 1U case
The case is 30 mm tall and weighs 0.9 kg, so it drops into a 1U slot exactly like the 200 W model. You gain current without giving up a shelf, which matters in a touring rack where every unit of height is already spoken for.
Powering WS2815 strip with the RSP-320-12
WS2815 runs on 12 V and loses far less voltage along a length of tape than a 5 V strip does. With 26.7 A behind it, one RSP-320-12 covers a serious run from a single mains feed, which keeps both the wiring and the commissioning simple.
Sizing the supply against your run
Take the maximum draw your strip manufacturer states per metre, multiply by your length and keep roughly 20 % headroom. If the total passes 26.7 A, split the run and add a second supply with power injection rather than pushing one unit to its limit.

Installation and cooling inside a rack
Leave the fan a clear path in and out. Mounted in a closed enclosure with no airflow, any 320 W supply will reach its over-temperature threshold and shut down, and the RSP-320-12 is no exception. Above 2000 m the working temperature derates by 5 °C per 1000 m, which is worth knowing before a mountain installation.
When several supplies share one breaker
Every switch-mode supply draws a short current peak at switch-on — up to 40 A at 230 V AC for this model. Stack enough of them on one circuit and those peaks add up until the breaker trips. Our AC Delay module staggers the start times so that never happens.
RSP-320-12 protection and warranty
Short circuit, overload, over voltage and over temperature protection are all built in, so a wiring mistake on site stops the supply rather than destroying it. The unit is approved to UL 62368-1, EN 62368-1 and EN/IEC 61558-1/2-16, carries CE and RoHS, and comes with Meanwell’s three-year warranty. Pair it with a LEC 3 or an SPI LED Controller running LED Strip Studio software, and ask our support team if you are unsure how much strip one supply will carry.
